Find the plane.

The descending colon starts over the kidney and moves medially to expose Gerota. The spleen and pancreatic tail remain at the upper-pole interface.

Too deep enters the renal envelope early and can bleed. Too shallow risks mesentery. The reflected colon remains part of the donor.

This atlas uses a transperitoneal teaching sequence (colon reflection first). It is schematic living-donor anatomy, not a patient and not a simulation of every operative approach.

Arterial map 1 / 4 · Default

Single artery

One aortic ostium. A common renal artery divides near the hilum into anterior and posterior branches.

Division strategy

Preserve useful common-trunk length at the aortic origin while protecting the donor aorta.

Recipient back table

One arterial inflow for the recipient. Artery and long renal vein remain distinct.
